SECOND SHIFT is an independent art project operated in Belgium by Benedikt Rammelaere. Questions about personal data can be sent to operator@second-shift.run.

Hosting and technical logs

The website, machine-event gateway, media and database are hosted by bunny.net. Like most hosting infrastructure, bunny.net may process IP addresses and technical request information to deliver and secure the service. These operational logs are governed by bunny.net's infrastructure settings and retention.

Analytics

With your permission, SECOND SHIFT records only the requested page path, calendar day and an aggregate view count in its own database. No IP address, device identifier, fingerprint, advertising identifier or cross-site profile is stored in this first-party analytics table.

After you grant analytics permission, the site also loads Google Analytics 4. Google may then process session, approximate location, browser and device information and store a first-party client identifier for audience statistics. Advertising storage, advertising user data and ad personalisation remain disabled.

The configured GA4 measurement ID is G-K7L5646R1Y. No request to Google Analytics is made before analytics permission is granted.

First-party daily aggregates are retained for up to 13 months. The legal basis for optional analytics is your consent. You may withdraw it at any time through Cookie Settings.

Local storage and cookies

The public site stores your privacy choice locally in your browser. The CMS uses a strictly necessary, secure administrator session cookie after login. When accepted, Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies such as _ga. No advertising cookies are used by SECOND SHIFT.

Machine submissions

When you report a machine, SECOND SHIFT processes the contact details and information you provide in order to inspect and answer the proposal. The message is delivered through Lettermint to the project operator. Submission data is not sold or used for advertising.

Unsuccessful proposals are removed when no longer needed and normally within 24 months. Records connected to an acquisition or ongoing collaboration may be retained as part of the project administration.

External services

Project films currently open as external YouTube links; no YouTube player is loaded automatically on this site. Following an external link means that service's own privacy terms apply.

Your rights

Under applicable data-protection law you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object where processing relies on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
